Travel Prep in my Bullet Journal

I never seem to get ahead of the game… every time I think I’m finally getting a handle on being organized, something comes up, or I say yes to one too many things…

Anyway, the latest thing that snuck up on me (other than missing a Tuesday blog post, shhhh) was our spring break vacation. I am currently typing this on my phone while I wait for our flight to Hawaii. (I know, I know, it’s not good to tell the interweb where we are going and when, but we have housesitters in our house, so it’s not abandoned, and that’s all the details you are getting… )

In order to help me get organized, I made a couple spreads in my bullet journal.  The first was just the trip details for planning purposes.

This is where I put down the pertinent information about our flights, accommodation and car rental. It made it easy to check on and share with those that needed to have that info.

The second spread that really helped me get sorted and not stress out was my packing list.

I’m sure that I ended up over packing for this trip, but at least with the list I knew I wasn’t going to forget anything important. Or, at least I haven’t discovered that I’ve forgotten anything yet…

Anyway, I probably won’t do another post while I’m on holidays, but will rest up and get lots of good ideas for when I return. Enjoy your spring break!

  1. Have a great holiday πŸ™‚

I’ve just spent untold hours reading your blog posts since Dec 2015 – think it started with me following a google link on the Konmari folding stuff – and heading off on multiple jumps across other bloggers’ posts, ‘Followed a dozen or more ‘Minimalist bullet journal’ creatives, watched numerous ‘How to …’ ‘BuJo
‘ videos, planned some of my own potential ‘Spreads’ & goodness knows what else πŸ˜‚. 8 hrs ago I had never heard of ‘bullet journals’, and now, having learnt what seems an entirely new language, well – I *think* I’ve just ordered a Hobonichi techno planner from Japan. In Β₯ Yen!

What have you got me in to?!? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    • Welcome! And thanks for reading! πŸ™‚

Sounds like my introduction to Bullet Journals! And it is so much fun! Not to mention it has really helped me get organized. Still a work in process, but so much better than it was. I hope you will share some of your bullet journal experiences online. I’d love to see how you do it! πŸ™‚

      • Thanks Jena – still trialling formats & styles, feel like I need to ‘copy’ a few and see what feels ‘me’. From there I’m sure I’ll find my own style & what’s useful for me πŸ™‚

Keep blogging! I especially love the financial analyses πŸ™‚

    • Thank you! We had a great trip. Now back to regular life…

My first attempt at bullet journaling was not nearly as nice, but I’ve been doing it for over a year now, and have spent hours and hours looking at Instagram and Pinterest for ideas to “borrow”… Most everything I do it copied from somewhere else… But, it is important to note, that the effectiveness of a bullet journal does not come from how pretty it looks… πŸ™‚
