DIY Wedding Crafts

You are probably thinking… Why is she posting about wedding crafts?  Her wedding was over a year ago… But no, it’s not crafts from my own wedding…

This post was originally supposed to be published while I was away at one of my best friends’ wedding at the beginning of the month.  I was in her wedding party, and although we don’t live in the same city anymore, I did go and visit her for the long weekend in September to help with wedding prep (plus a long overdue visit).  So I wanted to share some of the easy wedding crafts that we did that weekend.

First, we made candle holder jars.

They put these around the outdoor area at the reception hall.  We used blue and orange ribbon with a glue gun to glue stripes on the jars.  Then my friend tied little bows that we glued on to the front.

I think they are pretty darn cute myself… We had a pretty good assembly line going too.  Ribbon cutting, gluing, tying, more gluing…

Second, we made the place-card holders, which were also part of their wedding favours.

My friend is from Canada, and her husband is from France, so these were a little ode to both of their origins…  I unfortunately didn’t take many photos of them set up at the wedding, so this is the best I can give you:

Did you (or do you plan to) have personalized crafts at your wedding?  Don’t you think they add so much character to a wedding?
