Nothing to Report…

Nothing to Report...

I wish that I would have something interesting and exciting to post every Tuesday and Thursday that I have set as my posting schedule, but unfortunately I don’t really lead that exciting of a life… I have nothing to report…

I work full time, and I play my sports, I try to eat healthy and stay active, and hopefully work a little bit towards my goals… But really, I’m just plugging along these days… And definitely nothing interesting or exciting enough to report on the blog… That sort of sounds like the something from my first blog post ever… but I know that I am much more mindful and consciously involved in my life now.  That doesn’t, however, change the fact that I don’t have anything to write about today…

I haven’t done any recent decluttering… And I definitely haven’t done any more of the KonMari method that I started with my clothes… Despite my goal of running in 5 races this year, I haven’t done one, or even registered for one yet (though there is an 8k run this weekend that I could register for last minute)… I haven’t actually managed to finish reading a book that I have taken from the library yet.  Which really is quite sad… I have a bunch of small projects on the go, but nothing to any point where I can share them… I’m making use of my bullet journal for my daily to-do lists and keeping my schedule straight, but that’s nothing too exciting… My husband and I are planning our honeymoon, which has been loads of fun, but nothing is set in stone yet, so it’s not like I have anything to post about that either…

Yesterday was our 6 month anniversary.  I could potentially write something about being married for 6 months, or look back at where I was a year ago… but would that really be interesting to anyone?  I don’t know…

Valentines_Day
Our simple Valentine’s day.

So, here I am, looking to get a blog post out for today, and don’t have anything to say… Nothing to report… Zero inspiration…

I guess I need to do some brainstorming?  And blog planning… But, if I get a bunch of ideas that require me to actually do stuff… then I’ll need to make time to actually do the stuff (like learning things, or researching, or actually decluttering…)

Or I need to start taking photos of my every day activities and find a way to write about them that is actually interesting to people… I made peanut butter energy balls last night, loosely based on these Lara Bar recipes from “Chocolate Covered Katie”… so I could have taken pictures if I’d been thinking about it, and shared how that went… I ate two for breakfast this morning and they were very tasty!

Lucky for me, yesterday, Cait from Blonde on a Budget posted a link to a blog post from Sarah Von Bargen about not having to stick to the rules you’ve written for yourself… So, there is the option of just taking a break from my Tuesday/Thursday schedule (it’s a very loose schedule anyway…) and waiting until I have something interesting to write about… But I’d like to try and stick to it, so today you get this hum-drum post from me…

So, here’s what I’m looking for from my small collection of readers (that’s you special people!)… What do you want me to write about?  Are you interested in reading about my everyday struggles with making progress on my goals?  Do you mind having the occasional “hum-drum” post if it means that I post regularly?

  1. If I remember correctly from reading your older posts, you started this blog to help you improve yourself, right? Then THAT should be the focus of your posts. If it’s important for you to stay committed than maybe some posts are a little fluffy. Or you could focus on quality over quantity. If I had to pick a couple topics to read about, I would say tidying and personal finance. Good luck figuring out what works best for you!

    • Thanks Lauren. You always know what to say!

I’m posting today about my health & fitness goals, and then hopefully over the weekend I’ll be able to do some brainstorming (and maybe get something done) that I can report about next week.

  2. I completely understand where you are coming from! I’ve been blogging for four years, and there have definitely been more than a few dry spells in there. My best advice is that if you don’t have anything to write about, and you don’t feel like brainstorming ideas or structuring your writing…just take a break. A short break, even just a week can make a huge difference.

    Good luck!

    • Glad to hear that I’m not alone with my lack of inspiration. I feel like I took a break not too long ago when I was on vacation, so I don’t “deserve” to have another break… haha! I managed to get my act together and post something today, so maybe it’s just part of the process… If I am going to keep myself accountable on the blog, then maybe I just need to actually keep doing things that make progress towards my goals that I can report about… Maybe…
